some bits & pieces i’m most proud of.
i’m always happy to share more, just ask nicely.

  • project 01 - a departure from the corporate voice

this project for a seattle-based gaming company was unlike any other i’ve worked on during my tenure. it required almost constant writing, editing, and researching. i collaborated well with the account lead and interpreted their ideas in a way that connected with the customer and our corporate message— but in a much more fun and fresh way. while we often re-use content for projects, every single piece of this deliverable was tailored and bespoke.

  • project 02 - my first commercial

i’ve written a number of video scripts before— usually for executive talking heads with a very straight-forward message. this time though, i was asked to co-create an entire commercial concept, write the script, suggest visuals, and get the storyboard to the video team in two days. a taxing request, sure, but i did it and am very proud of the outcome. the commercial aligns the two companies right from the start and ends with who we are and what we do for our customers.

  • project 03 - a visual story

we outsourced part of our deliverable to a local design firm to create an illustration about the company’s operational capabilities and scale. i needed to craft the story first, and then ensure the core message survived through multiple design iterations. the project moved quickly and took a path outside of our normal process, but the final product was compelling and succinct. we’ve since scrubbed the graphic and reused it for other sales requests. a pretty good investment, if you ask me.

  • project 04 - my second commercial

it's not all corporate business writing for me. a couple of my entrepreneurially spirited friends launched pronto, an e-commerce coffee business, and they needed some help with their brand and voice. i wrote a few of their coffee blend descriptions, tuned up their about us, and crafted a commercial that focused on finding your pronto moment.

  • project 05 - keeping it simple

sometimes it’s tough to streamline proposal information into 30 pages or less. other times, the customer specifically requests it. for this project, i worked really closely with the field sales representative to distill every offer into direct and informative content. the graphic designer and i collaborated frequently on different design elements, like headers and icons, to draw attention to key points.
